A pilgrimage to the apus and a guided shamanic journey that you can adapt to your specific needs.

Pilgrimage to the Apus

The apus are revered mountain spirits in the Andean tradition. They are considered powerful protectors of the land and are believed to be sources of wisdom and healing. If you feel called to connect with the apus in your region, here are some steps you can take:

  1. Research the apus in your area: Learn about the apus in your region and their significance to the local culture. This can involve reading books, talking to locals, and exploring the landscape to identify key peaks or mountains.

  2. Prepare for the pilgrimage: Depending on the location and accessibility of the apus, you may need to prepare physically and mentally for the journey. This can involve getting in shape, packing the right gear, and practicing meditation or other spiritual practices to cultivate a focused and receptive mindset.

  3. Make an offering: Before embarking on your pilgrimage, it is customary to make an offering to the apus. This can be something as simple as a piece of fruit or a flower, or something more elaborate like a despacho ceremony. The key is to offer something from your heart with the intention of creating a connection and showing respect.

  4. Embark on the journey: Depending on the location of the apus, you may need to hike or travel by other means. As you approach the mountain, take time to tune into your surroundings and allow yourself to connect with the energy of the land. When you arrive at the base of the mountain, take a moment to set your intention and make your offering.

  5. Connect with the apus: Once you have made your offering, you can begin to connect with the apus. This can involve sitting quietly and meditating, offering prayers or songs, or simply feeling the energy of the mountain and allowing yourself to be open to any messages or insights that come to you.

Guided Shamanic Journey

If you would like to take a shamanic approach to your pilgrimage, here is a guided journey that you can adapt to your needs:

  1. Set your intention: Before beginning the journey, set your intention for what you hope to receive or learn from the apus. This can be something specific or something more general like seeking guidance or healing.

  2. Prepare for the journey: Find a quiet, comfortable place to sit or lie down. Set up any candles or other objects that help you create a sacred space. You may want to use a drum or other instrument to help you enter a shamanic state of consciousness.

  3. Call in the spirit helpers: Begin by calling in your spirit helpers, such as power animals or guides. Ask them to protect and guide you on your journey.

  4. Enter the journey: Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to center yourself. Visualize yourself entering a portal that takes you to the base of the apu. See yourself making an offering and setting your intention.

  5. Connect with the apu: As you approach the mountain, feel its energy and allow yourself to merge with it. Ask the apu to reveal any messages or insights that it has for you. You may see images or hear words, or you may simply feel a sense of connection and understanding.

  6. Receive any healing or guidance: Allow yourself to receive any healing or guidance that the apu has for you. Trust your intuition and allow yourself to be open to whatever comes up.

  7. Return from the journey: When you feel ready, visualize yourself returning through the portal and back to your physical body. Thank your spirit helpers
